Regular exercise and a balanced healthy lifestyle are the building blocks of a good overall health. However, throughout a woman’s life she may encounter various health challenges. This is why the professionals at the Southeast Women’s Center encourage regular preventative health visits as part of your normal personal health maintenance routine. It is our goal to educate patients, prevent disease, and improve and restore the overall well being of each of the women we serve.

We offer a full range of preventative health services including:

Papanicolaou Test (Pap Smear)

As part of your well-woman examination, our professionals will test for cervical cancer by performing a Pap Smear.  This procedure allows your doctor to discover precancerous or cancerous cells at the earliest stages greatly improving the chance of overcoming this disease. This quick and easy test should be performed at least once a year and consist of collecting cells or tissue from the opening of the cervix for microscopic examination. Pap Smears save lives and should be an essential part of a safe and healthy life for all women.

Osteoporosis Screening

Osteoporosis is a very common health issue that many women face. This degenerative disease causes bones to thin and become brittle. Without proper detection and treatment, bones can fracture and break. Many people who develop osteoporosis may not even know they have the bone disease because symptoms are often hidden. A bone density test is the most effective way to find out if you are at risk or in need of treatment. A well balanced diet, regular exercise, and vitamin supplements are all great ways to prevent this damaging disease. If you are worried that you may be at risk for osteoporosis contact the professionals at the Southeastern Women’s Center to schedule your next visit.
